Original Air Afrique 'Allemagne' Travel Poster, 1964 by Desjardins.

Original, vintage travel poster published by Air Afrique to advertise flights from the African continent to Allemagne (Germany) from 1964.  This showcases a beautifully moody, nocturnal view of the iconic Schloss Neuschwanstein (Neuschwanstein Castle) shrouded in deep alpine blues and rich forest greens, contrasting with a vibrant orange and white typography of "Allemagne / Air Afrique” to perfectly capture the classic mid-century aesthetic.  The image is created by the celebrated mid-century French photojournalist Michel Desjardins in collaboration with the luxury ‘Réalités’ magazine.  Unlike standard African destination posters issued by a major post-colonial African carrier, this poster unusually promotes flights beyond the African continent to Europe.
